“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day.” ~ 1 Corinthians 15: 3 – 4
Have you ever wondered why Jesus kept the scars from His crucifixion after he rose from the dead? I believe the story of His resurrection would be incomplete without those scars on the hands, the feet, and the side of Jesus (John 20:27). In our day we want to minimize the scars on our bodies, but Jesus highlighted His scars when He showed them to Thomas after He had risen from the dead. One writer wrote, “From the perspective of heaven, those scars represent an eternal reminder of the price Jesus paid for our salvation.” Because of the resurrection of Christ, we have the full guarantee of eternal salvation when we believe in Him. This coming Sunday is Easter Sunday where we are once again reminded of the glorious resurrection of our Lord. Whatever you have planned this weekend, for the Christian, nothing is more important than to come into the house of the Lord and give Jesus the praise and worship He deserves. We have a great morning planned with the Church Wide Breakfast beginning at 9AM followed by a joint Sunday School Class in the Fellowship Hall led by Dr. Bennie Crocket. Then we enter into the sanctuary at 10:45AM to celebrate our risen Savior! Hope to see you here! Blessings!
